The Air Jordan 5 has been full of surprises in 2013. On top of all the OG colorways that were trotted out, we also saw the sneaker dress up in elephant print, a Doernbecher look, and now this “Shanghai” colorway. Details on the shoes remain slim, but the nickname here is one derived from that logo on the back, which sports the Chinese symbol commonly used to refer to that largest city of China. Get a full set of photos on the "Shanghai" Air Jordan 5 with us after the click and check back in with Sneaker News next week to get a more complete breakdown on the sneakers. The big question surrounding the Air Jordan 5 “Shanghai” is whether or not they'll be available over here in the states come the time of their release. Keep in mind that Nike's been hooking Shanghai up with all sorts of regional exclusives this year, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine this special pair of the Air Jordan 5 not ever making it to retail accounts here in North America. Take a close look at the pair on feet and stay tuned to Sneaker News to find out the full backstory on the “Sanghai Shen” Air Jordan 5 shown here. Are you keeping count of all the Air Jordan 5 colorways that are coming in 2013? If the Air Jordan 5 “Black Laney” pictured here does indeed release this year it will bring the grand total to ten. The colorway shown has some clear overlap with the original Air Jordan V “Laney”, and even features a crest near the heel area that doesn't look too far off from that of Michael Jordan's high school-but of course there's nothing to officially link them with the institution.
